I get asked all the time from folks, how often should I have this done. Now more often than not its after I am done clearing out a huge blockage that killed their dryer. The industry standard says that if you do 5-7 loads of laundry a week, you should be having the vent cleaned and inspected annually. In my house, the laundry never stops so I end up doing mine about every 8 months. My parents, on the other hand are retired and don’t do as much laundry so they may go 18 months between cleanings. If you aren’t sure of when the last time you had your system cleaned and inspected, don’t wait until its too late.
